Introducing Our Practice Team

Veterinary Surgeons:

MichelleMichelle BVSc, MRCVS
I qualified as a Veterinarian in Pretoria, South Africa in 1997, but have spent most of my working life in England.  I met my husband here and we have three lovely children who keep me busy and happy.

I love being a vet, the interaction with the animals, the clients, working as part of a team and the challenge of doing your best for every patient.  I’ve done small animal work since 1997, but if you asked me whether my preference is for cats or dogs, I’d have to say it depends on the individual, not to mention all the lovely rabbits and small furries that come to see me.

I have a particular interest in surgery and emergency veterinary medicine and I occasionally cover shifts at the emergency clinic we subscribe to.  That is when I can fit it in around my busy family life.

KeithKeith BVMS, MRCVS
I qualified as a Veterinarian in 2002 from Glasgow University. I spent six years working in the UK and abroad in mixed animal practices before focusing on small animal practise. I have been with Tiptree Veterinary Centre since January 2008 and I have a special interest in imaging and endoscopy. I am a member of the British Veterinary Association, the British Small Animal Veterinary Association and the Society of Practicing Veterinary Surgeons.

DonDon BSc. BVSc., MRCVS
I qualified as a Vet in 1984 also have a BSc in Zoology and Genetics.
I treated the animals as they came off Noah's Ark, but sadly I could not save the dinosaurs.
I worked in South Africa for 12 years before becoming a partner in the Tiptree practice in 1996. I have worked with farm animals, domestic pets, reptiles and birds, and for a few years was in a diagnostic laboratory and lectured a course at at University. I am a member of the BVA, the BSAVA, the SPVS, Essex Vet Soc, the British Zoological Vet Society and the Christian Vet Society.
As director of the Tiptree Veterinary Centre and London Road Vets in Lexden, Colchester, I am continually humbled by the dedication and expertise of both the vets and the nurses on our team. I have booked a kennel for the day that dementia becomes more apparent than years of experience. I doubt I could get better care elsewhere.

BethBeth B.V.Sc, MRSCVS
I qualified as a Veterinarian at Ondersterpoort University (South Africa) in 1997, and began my career that year in Essex, spending seven years working at a busy large and small animal practice near Chelmsford.  Since then I have worked as a locum all over England and in Johannesburg in South Africa.

I recently returned to Essex where I live with my husband and our two children.

I have been associated with Assisi Veterinary Group as a locum vet since 2006, and joined the practice working part time in 2013.  Having worked with all types of animals, I definitely prefer dogs, cats and small furries.  I enjoy all aspects of general practice.

Veterinary Nurses and Assistants:

LucyLucy
I started working for Tiptree Veterinary Centre in 2004 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2005. My main areas of interest are nursing of exotic patients, in which I have gained a City and Guilds in Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Species. I am a clinical coach and also train the student veterinary nurses and work experience students. I work part time and spend my time outside of work caring for my two daughters, Eden and Fern, and my many rescue pets.

Annabel
I arrived at the practice as a young student nurse for a summer job in 2005. Two years later I took up a full time position at the practice, having qualified from the Royal Veterinary College with a BSc Hons degree in Veterinary Nursing.

Having always wanted to be a veterinary nurse I have taken a keen interest in many aspects within the practice but can usually be found in theatre trying to keep things clean and tidy.

Growing up on a farm has given me a soft spot for working breeds such as Labradors and Spaniels. In my spare time I like to bake and will sometimes bring my cakes into work to brighten up everyone’s day.

SameenaSameena
I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in January 2009 from Writtle College and also have a degree in animal science from Writtle College. I have been at Tiptree Veterinary Centre since August 2009.  I have a Jack Russell called Mango and a horse called Lily, and I had my first daughter Mia in March 2013.  Outside of work I can be found competing with my horse in various disciplines.

Jenny HJenny H
I was here for work experience between 2007 and 2010, and joined the team as a trainee nurse in May 2013.  I am attending Writtle College, studying Veterinary Nursing.  I have two naughty kittens, Isaac and Tallullah.  In my spare time I enjoy baking and just catching up with friends and family.

Hannah THannah T
I joined the practice in March 2013 as a nursing assistant / receptionist.  Previous to this I was working as a qualified dental nurse for ten years.  The career change was prompted by my love of animals.  At home I have two dogs, Poppy a basset hound x Shar Pei, and Orla a Springer Spaniel; I also have a giant African land snail called Norbert.  However, the love of my life is my horse Honey (but don’t tell my husband).  Honey has been part of my life for eight years and takes up most of my spare time.  When I’m not out riding or walking my dogs I love to spend time with my husband, friends and family.

Cristina PChristina P
I started working at Tiptree Veterinary Centre in September 1998.  I have a special interest in rabbits and guinea pigs.

Many of my own bets are rescues and include two cats Bert and Ernie, four rabbits and two guinea pigs.

I now work part time since becoming a mum to Jack and Evie, and do veterinary nursing and process the insurance claims.

Receptionists:

Fiona TFiona T
I started working for Tiptree Veterinary Centre just before Don and Maryanne took over the practice in 1997.  I work as a receptionist and in the HR department.  I enjoy working within a friendly team and love meeting and greeting our clients and their pets.

JackieJackie
I started working at Tiptree Veterinary Centre as a Receptionist in October 2003, initially working only on Saturday mornings.  Ten years later I am now working as a part time Receptionist five days a week.  I now feel I know the majority of our clients and their pets and enjoy chatting to them.  I have a Rescue Golden Retriever called Shadow and two White Campbell ducks called Amelia and Beatrice.

JaneJane
I started working at Tiptree Veterinary Centre in January 2013 as a receptionist/admin assistant. I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2004 and after many years of nursing have now decided to use my skills in reception, where I enjoy meeting the clients and their pets. I have given a home to many elderly stray cats over the years and have two cats at the moment.

Admin:

YvonneYvonne
I joined the practice in 2001 and am now Assistant Practice Manager.  My job is very varied, involving managing stock, rotas and client queries.  I have a keen interest in pet diets and nutrition and run the weight clinics. I have completed the Open University Business Management course, as well as several canine behaviour courses. As part of our service I offer consultations at home or in the clinic for adapting and modifying behaviours in dogs.  I am the owner of a seven year old Dobe with whom I spend my holidays all over this country enjoying some great walking.

AnnAnn
I started at Tiptree Veterinary Centre in 2006.   I work in the accounts department and manage the VIP Pet Health Scheme.  My favourite thing about working here is that when number crunching gets too much, I can always go and play with the dogs and other pets downstairs.  In my spare time, I enjoy DIY and being a surrogate parent to my daughter’s dog, Lily.
